Design: Approximately 9 cm in length and 4 cm in width. The main color of the ticket is light blue or blue-green. (There may be color differences among different batches.)
Front side: The top part is printed with the words "Hebei Province Local Grain Ticket", and the middle pattern mostly consists of farmland, water conservancy projects or industrial and agricultural production scenes, reflecting the theme of agricultural development at that time. There is a decorative border with patterns around it.
Back side: It prints the usage instructions, including "This ticket is valid throughout Hebei Province" and "With this ticket, you can purchase grain products and exchange them for other grain products". At the bottom, there is the seal of "Hebei Revolutionary Committee Grain Bureau".
Background of issuance: In the 1970s, China was in a planned economy period and grain was subject to a quantitative supply system. Hebei Province, as a major agricultural province, to regulate the grain circulation within the province, issued this version of local grain tickets in 1975, for residents' daily grain purchases and the exchange of grain products.
Circulation and use: This grain ticket is only valid within Hebei Province. Residents need to apply for it from the local grain department with their grain books. When purchasing grain, they need to pay both the grain ticket and cash, and exchange them for finished grain products such as flour and rice according to the local supply standards.
Face value of the ticket "ONE TON" corresponds to the weight of the finished grain product. It can be used to purchase grain products such as steamed buns and noodles, and is an important voucher for people's livelihood security in the planned economy era.
