The first round of zodiac stamps - the favorite collectibles of top celebrities (treasured collectibles)
A set of zodiac stamps is the first set of zodiac stamps issued by the postal service. It began with the "Monkey Stamp" of the Year 1980 on February 15, 1980. This series of stamps features the Monkey Stamp designed by the renowned artist Huang Yongyu, with a unique bright red background and a detailed engraved "Monkey Stamp" (with an issuance of 5 million pieces). The Monkey Stamp has always been a benchmark for the value of the stamp market and a barometer of the postal market trend. It is also a measuring stick for evaluating the collection level of collectors. In 2017, the entire sheet of rare complete Monkey Stamps was auctioned for as much as 2 million yuan, and a single stamp once sold for 14,000 yuan, with an appreciation rate of 175,000 times the original face value, creating a myth in China's JT stamps and a unique existence in the history of world stamp issuance. The first set of zodiac stamps was issued for 12 stamps, with each stamp size being 26mm x 31mm, all with a perforation of P11.5. They were all shadow engraving and offset printing. The postal service printed 80 pieces per full sheet (8 x 10), all produced by the Beijing Postal Stamp Factory. Its success promoted the design and issuance of subsequent zodiac stamps and established the cultural symbol status of zodiac stamps in the stamp collecting world. Many people may not necessarily like stamp collecting, but they will definitely like zodiac stamps.
